A Goldseal conservatory or orangery is a great way to increase living space quickly and easily without the complications associated with building an extension. All our conservatories are bespoke, produced to meet your specific requirements and made using the best materials available. The shape of a conservatory is often dictated by the design of the house to which it is to be attached. Under current planning laws, a conservatory can be built which is as wide as your house. It can extend 3 m out when attached to a terraced or semi-detached house and 4 m for a detached. If you wish to go bigger than this you will need planning permission.
The base/brickwork construction will dictate whether the final product is a conservatory or an orangery. Conservatories generally have a dwarf wall built up to 600 mm from the floor, with glazing above to provide a lovely view of your garden. Another option is to have a full height wall on one side of your conservatory, which could maybe accommodate a flat screen TV! An orangery will generally have more brickwork with brick pillars that separate the windows and doors. This creates a room which more resembles a brick built extension.
Our stunning roof lanterns will flood light into your home. Perfect for new build extensions, orangeries or an existing flat roof. Introduce that “wow” factor and enjoy the feeling of spaciousness whether your home is traditional or modern. Our roof lanterns have slim frames to provide maximum uninterrupted sight lines and can be supplied with manual or automatic roof vents. We can supply roof lanterns either bespoke or “off the shelf” in a range of stylish colours, and they are thermally efficient too with an overall U-value of around 1.4. A beautiful conservatory or orangery is the perfect way to take best advantage of the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors and the good news is that with the latest technology available, Goldseal has some fantastic new roofing options. So if your conservatory currently has a polycarbonate roof, why not consider upgrading with Celsius glass.
Beautiful glass – Aesthetically pleasing with blue tinted and clear glass options. Rainfall and traffic noise are considerably reduced when compared to 25mm polycarbonate and the argon gas filled units provide greater insulation whilst further reducing noise. Celsius glass dramatically reduces sun damaging UV rays. It offers a unique combination of heat reflection and thermal insulation so your conservatory doesn’t get too hot in summer and stays lovely and warm in winter, creating an “all seasons” room. And it’s “easy clean” too, keeping maintenance to a minimum.
